A couple of years of operation and two or three shops of its own are the minimum conditions that a brand must meet to start franchising. However, there are exceptions. The Templo del Masaje was born 11 years ago and in 2010, with its only active store, it decided to open its first franchised establishment; currently two more have joined the network. Marina Assir, founding partner of the brand together with Marina and Maribel Corpa, explains that they prefer to grow little by little and on a safe footing: "The head of mind has to be immersed in the culture of the centre". That is why they only franchise to employees of El Templo del Masaje. "Otherwise, the candidate would have to work with us for a minimum period of four or six months, depending on his or her experience. This business partnership does not guarantee that they will be suitable to open a centre... we have to evaluate each one and decide if they really fit our model," says Assir.
